- What's a brag?

A brag is a video or picture you want to brag about, so it can be anything from a video
of you surfing a giant wave to a picture of you looking cool. You earn bragging rights
for every brag you upload. Brags are also used as proof for dares.

- What are bragging rights?
-
Bragging rights are points. If you upload something people think is cool, you get more bragging rights, which will send you up the rankings. The more brags you upload, the more chances you have of getting shitloads of bragging rights. Bragging rights for each brag are detrmined by a super-smart algorithm which powers our bragging rights engine.
You can earn more bragging rights by getting lots views and cool votes, as well as by embedding your brag and forwarding it to your friends. If you want to know more about the whole thing, drop us a line..
- How come my bragging rights are going down?
-
People are clicking lame brag… Sorry about that.
- What does cool brag and lame brag do?
-
When you mark something as cool, you increase the number of bragging rights the uploader
earns for the brag. Mark it as lame, and they'll lose bragging rights. Try and be fair
about how you vote.
For this brag, this bragster here has 136 bragging rights:

His bragging rights increased by 2! (The amount rewarded is calculated by the bragging rights engine)

-
A normal dare.
You dare 1 other person. They upload proof and if you judge their entry
to have been a success, they will get more bragging rights for that brag.

-
Type in their email address (in the "I dare" text field) and we'll send it to them.

-
When someone becomes your fan, they subscribe to your content and are told when you upload
a new brag or enter a dare. A friend isn't subscribed to your brags automatically - they
are simply notified of your actions in their feeds. You can become both a friend and a fan
of someone.
- How can I share my brag or dare on Facebook, MySpace, Digg, StumbleUpon or del.ico.us?
-
Click on the buttons shown below on the brag or dare page, then follow the instructions.
On a brag:
On a dare:
- Can I embed my brag on my blog or another site?
-
On the brag page, there's a box on the right side which has embed and share links for you to molest.
- Can I use my YouTube video as a brag?
-
Yep, just click 'YouTube has my video,' enter your YouTube details and then choose the video you want to use. If you
want to use a YouTube video in a comment, it doesn't have to be from your own account.
- Why doesn't my YouTube video show up on the list?
-
The reason you don't see all your YT videos immediately is that it takes a while after uploading videos to YouTube for them to become available to our site (or any other site that uses YT for that matter)... this is a YouTube limitation that we don't have any control over, I'm afraid.
Please wait a couple of minutes and try again... after a while your video will show up!
This is not just on Bragster, by the way: every site that uses what's called the "YouTube Data API" will be subject to these kinds of delays.
Also, make sure you don't mark your YouTube videos as "private" as we won't be able to retrieve your private videos from Mr YouTube (which is probably a good thing!)
- What's a team?
-
Teams can do brags together and compete with other teams using the combined total of their bragging rights. You can only
be in one team at a time and you must be invited, so make sure they're as cool as you. You can also upload team brags, which
will reward your team mates an equal share of the bragging rights.
- How many teams can I join?
- Just one and you must be invited by an admin of that team.
- What does it mean if I'm the admin of a team?
- As the admin of a team you can recruit (and kick out) members, delete comments, and message all team members.
- What's a group?
-
Groups are based around shared interests, and you can share a brag or dare with a group.
- How many groups can I join?
- As many as you would like to join.
- What does it mean if I'm the admin of a group?
- As the admin of a group you can remove shared brags and dares, delete comments, message all group members and kick out members.
- How do I share a brag with a group?
-
On the brag page, on the right side of the brag there is a link that says 'add to group.' Click it, and you'll be
asked which of your groups you want to add it to.
- How do I share a dare with a group?
- On the dare page, below the description, there is a link that says 'add to group.' Click it and you'll be asked which of your groups you want to add it to.
- What's wrong with the layout!?!
- From time to time the website layout experiences slight changes. While your web browser should always get the latest version of bragster automatically, you may need to clear your cache just in case. The quickest way to do this is to press Ctrl+R (or Apple Key+R if you're using a Mac) whilst on any bragster page. More information can be found here: Bypass your cache (wikipedia).
