My favorite bits in this dare:
1) You are Canadian - that's going to be interested to see you explaining that nationality doesn't matter.
2) "You need to get 330 signatures from people on the electoral register supporting your nomination: 10 from each London borough and from the City of London. You will also have to pay a deposit of £10,000, which is returned if you get more than 5% of first choice votes in the election". I'd say, you can forfeit the £10K. Mission accomplished if you managed to get a few signatures already, and try to make your case to those guys from the administration that money shouldn't be a factor.
3) "Candidates are limited to spending no more than £420,000 on their election campaigns." That should be fine, I guess. Write a book or become the biggest bragster ever. That should give you some free visibility, and I'm sure will play well for the mayorship. Look at Boris.
